The definition of a hero can become pretty vague.
Those working along the fine line between black and white often find themselves standing in the gray part.
What’s good and what’s bad is blurred in this seemingly uncharted area.
Heroes are forged in times of despair. When nobody else had the courage or determination to stand up to the massive wall of affliction staring down, these men and women stood tall.
Conquering the adversary…
Saying no to the flags of surrender
But those celebrated and glorified by the masses got lucky (should I use that word?) enough to be heralded as one.
Countless others receive no acknowledgement
and to those heroes:
"I raise my glass to you!!!"

None could have done it any better.
But every passing minute is a moment closer to the twilight
It never ended back then but it seemed like looking at a vague picture
Old photos fading to obscurity
Years passed
Cycles unending
Like horizons so vast, it was unimaginable
Seen better days I suppose
Carefree
Enjoying uninterrupted bliss
But that too started fading away
Closed their eyes
Imagining the picture I painted to them with my words
Of years gone by
Lost in the times yet memories unforgotten
Unbelievably, those were times that actually happened
Deviant of today’s constant despondency
Mellow songs
Wasted bittersweet moments
Which gradually ended falling out of favor
Hope
Let the rains come and go
But these are the moments when we let sunshine stay a little bit longer
For summers end too soon
Yet not a moment sooner

Cloudy skies
Open courts
Perfect
The tranquil afternoon is broken with the sound of a metal ring jammed hard with the ball… I feel the cold air blowing around my body. It used to be like this back in the good old days. Practicing every angle, every move in the playgrounds, injecting my own unique identity to every shot added to the repertoire. But not all shots had to be monotonously repeated, some demanded pure creativity and genius, a shot created amidst situations trying to limit your opportunity to score but as the level of difficulty increases, the satisfaction given with each conversion is enhanced. When a beautiful shot is made, it does not go unappreciated, even the opponents nod in approval. Gifted with natural ability honed through years of playing dakopdakop (tag),japanese, tubigtubig, majority of the motor skills the sport demanded was well developed. But this game was not just a showcase of purely physical talent, it involved something far deeper…
Unfathomable by individuals ignorant of the experience.
Teamwork. The adhesive that keeps the team in place. Win together, lose together…
I look at the skies once again…
There was that time, in the not-so-distant past, when we ruled the courts and euphoria was amongst us.
Can we do it again?

On one particular jeepney ride (62 C), I saw something out of the ordinary…
There was a red helmet lying in the middle of the road.
relentless…
unmoving…
As the jeepney continued on, the picture unfolded like a scene from a masterfully created cinematic.
A woman went down from a motorcycle and scurried along to recover the cherished piece from the ground.
It was picture perfect.
One for the bigscreen art films… (err… no. Not YouTube!)
Inspiration for a future cinematographer
History Check: All cameras I have used in the past 2 years have gone haywire. Haha!
As I play with the idea of being one,it comes to mind that I seriously need a blog editor.
Applicants get a chance to be on my my next vid.
Seriously!

It’s been quite some time since I entered a new entry. Looks like I’ve pull through. Scathed but thank God, still in one piece though. Now, my sembreak (can it qualify as one?) was not what you call… interesting. Well.. honestly there were some little good events worthy of a footnote every now and then but then again it was nothing really. Hm… How about watching 3 movies in Ayala in one week? Could that qualify? I mean, watching in movie theaters burns holes in the pockets these days. So splurging narrowly makes the mark but then again technically, I didn’t pay for all three movies. I paid 1 out of three. Hm… are you asking me for the titles? First up was THE DEPARTED. It was a cop vs. Mafia infiltrating affair. Too much violence actually. Next up was THE PRESTIGE. ah! magic set in those days was quite fascinating and er… no this was no Hogwarts rubbish (forgive me Potta fans). And the third movie comes as no suprise, it was THE GRUDGE 2. Sequel to that horror movie that doesn’t raise anything. Have you noticed that all these films have the word THE? I mean, what’s with the THE? hahaha! I didn’t concentrate on the movie, I mean the movie itself wasn’t worth my time.
By the way, I’m releasing MY GUIDE ON TEXTING IN THE SHOWER WITH A NON WATER PROOF PHONE but no publishing house seems to be interested. (Psst! Raine, are you reading this you? Stop calculating Krypton’s concentration in this planet’s atmosphere * The concentration of krypton in the Earth’s atmosphere is about 1 ppm) Oh well…
THE END. (er nope… di na cya movie. hehe)

As I rummage through all the stuff in my bag, I chance upon my library card. Yes, that piece of junk which has never been used my entire college life. haha!
At around six o’ clock last night, as I "listened" to the reports by my classmates about Philippine History, my phone vibrated. I secretly opened my inbox which contained 2 messages from Q. Her message contained, ":("
And from that message alone, I knew that ATENEO had won!!!
Ateneo had won 2nd place… hehehe…
yeah! yeah!
Deep down inside, I knew that UST was going for an upset somehow.
As I walked to the UNDERGROUND on that cold windy night, I pondered.
"Q must be playing a prank on me."
And as I went inside the UNDERGROUND to buy a bar of chocolate, news flashed right at that very moment that UST had won the 69th season of the UAAP.
Looks like UST really did it this time huh?
I’m going to school now to pay my dues with all the bets I made:
- 15 php load with Dwight
- fishball with Jaine
- 20 php in cold hard cash with Yadz
- and Cloud9 + softdrinks with Eko
Hayz! One of those rare times I lose in sports betting. haha!
*My message to the ADMU supporters especially to Q: "Win or lose, it was and will be the team to choose."
and to Cole: do I still get the statue?
hehe…

Mayday! Mayday! whoo! May is coming to an end and the light of summer is just starting to unravel itself. I spent most of the night writing the alphabet on pieces of paper. (murag elementary! hekhekerz…) As I monotonously wrote letter by letter, it made me recall the things I used to have in high school… "I will not be late" "I will bring my ID to school everyday" suwat more than a hundred times in a piece of yellow pad… hehe…
That was our "punishment" daw in high school nya I was a suki man. haha! Maybe it was because of that, that I got immune to pain and weariness from writing for long periods of time. (Pwede nako ma secretary) haha!!! Ay mao raman siguro. Kapoy nakog type. Lahi baya ang type ug suwat… hehe… Excuses excuses. bow!

Last night, on my jeepney ride back home, I sat near a young couple and they were making kulitan. The guy was keeping something away from the girl’s hands (some few coins I guess) and she was trying to get it. It came to the point wherein the girl started playing dirty and bit him. I expected him to get mad at the girl but instead he held her face closer and kissed her forehead like it was no big deal. Sweet kaayo noh? hehe… Hayz!
Selos ko. bleh! haha! Sagdi lang, my time will come… Someday… bwahaha!

I haven’t eaten right ever since college started. Blame it on the food served around campus. It’s either too expensive or napul-an nako… A few months ago, I met my old coach and she remarked that niniwang daw ko (I lost a lotta weight) And since I am very much malnourished, my immune system is relatively weak. Speaking of that, I haven’t been feeling well the past few days. Labad akong ulo and all that. =( Pero thank God I’m feeling a whole lot better now. Hayz! When will I ever get the chance to eat right? Luto-i kog nice nga food beh… hehe…
